Guide to Setting Up Product Categories in WordPress

Step1 : Access the Product Category Management Page

• Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
• Navigate to Products > Categories.

Step 2: Enter Category Information

• Name: Enter the name of the product category.
• Slug: This is the URL-friendly version of the category name. You can leave it blank, and WordPress will generate it automatically.
• Parent Category: If this category belongs to a parent category, select it from the dropdown.
• Description: Provide a brief description of the category (optional).
• Thumbnail: Click Upload/Add Image to set a category image.
• Display Type: Choose how the category should be displayed on the shop page.
• Click Add New Category to save the new product category.

Step 3 : Edit a Product Category

• On the category management page, hover over the category you want to edit and click Edit.
• Update the necessary details.
• Click Update to save changes.
